On the Shoulders of Giants:

The Carolina's Campaign to Cure MS

“Your financial support to this campaign contributes to MS research. Thanks to Mr. Murdock and his generosity, the best-in-the-world research facilities and equipment now exist. Please join me in finding a cure and creating a world free of Multiple Sclerosis.”

- Herman A. Stone

On the Shoulders of Giants is a volunteer led research campaign of the National MS Society, Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Inspired and led by Campaign Chair, Mr. Herman Stone, this monumental and unrivaled effort unites the intelligence and might of America’s premier medical and scientific research institutions, assembled by the visionary leadership of David Murdock, and the unmatched resources of the Core Lab and facilities on the North Carolina Research Campus to realize a cure for multiple sclerosis.

The partners involved in this worthy endeavor include the world’s leaders in science, industry, and healthcare and both the public and private sectors have rallied to the opportunity ahead.

No other partnership like this exists anywhere in the world and this alliance has the potential to yield an exceptional return for people with MS.

On the Shoulders of Giants: The Carolina's Campaign to Cure MS will raise $5.2 million dollars. These funds will initially support the work of Duke University's Dr. Simon Gregory and expand to support additional cutting edge MS research projects. These projects will better our understanding, challenge our assumptions about MS and realign the future for people living with the disease.

This is truly an historic undertaking.
