The Facility,
“With bricks, mortar, and research equipment in place, through Mr. Murdock’s generous investment, all money raised from this campaign will directly fund Dr. Gregory’s research and approved MS research partners in finding a cure. We celebrate the incredible vision of Mr. Murdock, with sincere thanks for this opportunity to stretch every dollar invested to move us closer to a cure.”
The North Carolina Research Campus is a private-public venture created to foster collaboration and further advancements in the fields of biotechnology, nutrition and health. While the research subjects may often be microscopic in size, the goals of NCRC are global in scale. The vision is to become the world’s epicenter of nutrition and disease research. With intensive planning and development and a $1.5 billion investment by David H. Murdock, NCRC combines all the right elements for breakthrough science and discovery.
Access to top research facilities. NCRC will offer more than a million square feet of state-of-the-art lab and office space, including the David H. Murdock Research Institute, which houses one of the largest and most advanced scientific equipment collections of its kind anywhere in the world, including state-of-the-art technology in genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Here, universities and private businesses will have the opportunity to test, explore and advance scientific knowledge across a variety of disciplines.
Collaboration with leading minds and universities. Many of the world’s top scientific minds — and many of the nation’s top research universities — already call NCRC home. On-campus universities include Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, North Carolina State University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina A&T State University and UNC Greensboro.
Opportunities for progress – and profit. Private firms will have the opportunity to develop, test and refine new product ideas with access to top talent and facilities. The NCRC offers a one-stop shop for companies, with access to university research, cutting edge equipment, and an abundance of laboratory and office space. Together, these advantages offer convenience and efficiency, which can lead to faster speed to market.
